IBM Service Center & 525 Lafayette
For over a decade, the original Downtown offices of the Baton Rouge Advocate had been an abandoned lot overlooking the Mississippi river. As a result of an innovative partnership between the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, CPRT, the State of Louisiana, and the City of Baton Rouge, and LSU, IBM has created close to 800 new jobs in the capital city for their new Service Delivery Center. This collaboration has resulted in expanded higher-education computer science programs at LSU, as well as a major new riverfront development that has accelerated the revitalization of downtown Baton Rouge. CPRT developed the multi-use complex that consist of a ten-story office building for IBM and other tenants and 525 Lafayette, an eleven-story prestigious riverfront residential tower consisting of 85 luxury apartments.
