The Water Campus
The Baton Rouge Area Foundation and CPRT have taken a leadership role in developing and managing the new 35-acre Water Campus. Located just south of Mississippi River Bridge and Interstate 10, the complex provides a shared location for scientists and engineers to study the problems confronting our coasts. The Water Campus is being developed on 35 acres along the Mississippi River. When finished, it will comprise 1.5 million square feet of space inhabited by about 4,000 people—all working together to understand and better manage the complex relationship between water, land and people. Home to the Water Institute of the Gulf and The Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority, the Campus will present a unique and compelling opportunity to assert a prominent global role for the city of Baton Rouge and the State of Louisiana.
